About Them

Can you please fully explain your business or product line?

I design/create crystal & gemstone pieces that are both beautiful and understated. Crystals & gemstones have long been admired for their unique energy and healing properties.

Home Stones’ clean and simplistic design allows you to place multiple pieces throughout your space, creating a truly custom crystal vibe while maintaining a subtle aesthetic.

Whether you are attracted to specific pieces for their energetic properties or you are drawn to their aesthetic appeal, there is a Home Stones piece that is perfect for you!

With the Winnipeg local maker community continuing to grow, what is the most important thing you’d like potential customers of your company to know?

Every single Home Stones piece has been lovingly crafted to be unique, beautiful, and exceptionally well-made. I pour my heart and soul into my work and I want my customers to see that in the quality. Ultimately, the customer experience is at the centre of my business, so I strive to provide the magic and beauty of crystals in the best way I can.

What inspired you to start your business?

Crystals and gemstones have been an interest of mine for many years.

Five years ago, my family and I underwent a major trauma when my mother, the beloved Grandma to my kids, took her own life.

Crystals became a big source of comfort for me and my kids. We drenched our home in crystals to help us grieve, heal, remember, and feel comforted.

With a then 5 year old, 3 year old, and 9 month old, all the crystals placed throughout our space became a bit of a logistical nightmare.

This is when the idea of Home Stones was born! I wanted a way to incorporate crystals into my décor but keep them out of reach from little hands. I was unable to find a product that matched my vision, so I decided to make my own. I knew how much I appreciated the crystal pieces I created and I wanted to share them with others.

What has been your biggest struggle as a make?

The logistics of being one person who needs to facilitate every aspect of the business. As the sole employee of Home Stones, I am responsible for tasks ranging from accounting to designing and everything in between! There has been a learning curve and I am still navigating it!

What has been your biggest success as a maker?

Seeing my vision come to life and continue to grow & evolve is my biggest success. I love that I can share my pieces with each Home Stones customer. It is such an honour and it makes me so proud.

Do you have any advice that you would pass on to someone hoping to start up their own business or product line?

Surround yourself with people who are encouraging and believe in you & your vision. Their support will be an invaluable part of everything you do moving forward.

Please share any upcoming events as well as the best place(s) for people to purchase your product!

Every Home Stones piece can be purchased through our website with free shipping on all orders within North America.
