Can you please fully explain your business or product line?

Fashion By Hafsa is a progressive, artistic line of clothing designed for the modern, modest woman.

Hafsa uses influences from different cultures to create a unique line of modest clothing. Designing it to be worn by anyone, regardless of belief, is important as Hafsa’s vision is to bring the old world into the new world while respecting the past and modernizing to prepare for the future. 

Authentic custom embroidery and painted designs stand out to promote a women’s forward fashion sense while respecting one’s preferences and beliefs, regardless of body type or background.

What inspired you to start your business?

Hafsa always wanted to make a change and empower women. Clothing plays such a big part in who you are that is expressed through what you wear. Hafsa wants to empower women to feel confident in what they wear, while not compromising their belief system. Modest fashion is scarce in North America and Hafsa realized this. In 2020, she took a leap of faith and embarked on this journey to empower young women. 

What was the biggest struggle you’ve had to overcome?

The biggest struggle Fashion by Hafsa faced was criticism from others that she would never succeed. 

What has been your biggest success as a maker?

Being able to find her voice, gain confidence, and strengthen her beliefs while empowering others to do the same. She is participating in a few big markets and fashion shows this year where she will be able to continue to convey her message through fashion.

Do you have any advice that you would pass on to someone hoping to start up their own business or product line?

If you have a passion or drive, take a leap of faith and start today! Life is short and there will never be a perfect time, so just go for it!

Pamela Roz has spent the last 15 years as a radio broadcaster including in classic rock, adult contemporary, top 40, nostalgia, and country formats. While honing the craft of radio, Pamela has grown her own publicity business, Pamela Roz PR. Since 2011, she has helped Manitoba-based artists/bands, theatre companies, events, organizations, and charities gain media coverage as well as enhance their online presence and grow their public followings (both on and offline). Under “other skills/passions”, you will find voiceover, journalism, interviewing, event planning, and event hosting. Pamela also continues to build her skills in journalism (which she majored in through Red River College's Creative Communications program), as well as social media, voiceover, interviewing, event planning, event hosting and radio tracking.
