Can you please fully explain your business or product line?

Mama ‘N’ Baby Creations is a handmade clothing and accessories business. We specialize in “grow with me” clothing for children but also offer a range of products from infant sizes up to ladies’ plus sizes. There are items for every season including shorts, dresses, rompers, hoodies, joggers, hats, winter accessories, and much more.

With the Winnipeg local maker community continuing to grow, what is the most important thing you’d like potential customers of your company to know?

We use only high-quality fabric to make our products. Every item is made with the highest standards, using the proper equipment to meet compliance requirements. 

What inspired you to start your business?

What inspired me was wanting cute clothing for my cloth diapered newborn. It was impossible to find pants and shorts to fit her, so I started making all of her clothing. I invested in the proper machines and started testing out products as well as getting the opinion of others before fully diving in.

What was the biggest struggle you’ve had to overcome?

I would say the biggest was finding a niche that wasn’t oversaturated and creating my own.

What has been your biggest success as a maker?

My biggest success is how far I have come in seven years! From baby items and accessories to a huge product line including ladieswear that also includes two of my own designs (a dress and my signature winter headbands).

Do you have any advice that you would pass on to someone hoping to start up their own business or product line?

Do your research! Think about what your passion is and how you could make it work.  Most importantly, look at the market and don’t dive into something that is oversaturated in your area; find your niche and work hard!
