About Them

Can you please fully explain your business or product line?

Brie Anne Co. is an online store where I have let my creative side design clothing & home decor items. I also do custom t-shirts & crewnecks for small, local businesses.

With the Winnipeg local maker community continuing to grow, what is the most important thing you’d like potential customers of your company to know?

Each product is designed by me & represents a part of my life. I really just wanted to share my favourite things with the world.

What inspired you to start your business?

I have always been inspired to start my own small business. As a kid, I used to upcycle my clothing and create jewellery; I loved showing off all of the new clothing & home decor items that I made for myself.

I grew up looking up to my mom, who ran her own business in my house. It really made me think that the sky’s the limit and that I can do anything I put my mind to. This winter when I got a Cricut machine as a gift, I knew I had to explore my creative side and share these products.

What was the biggest struggle you’ve had to overcome?

The biggest struggle I have had to overcome is the fear of not making it in a world where small businesses are becoming so prominent. I have a wonderful support system that continues to encourage me, even when I am doubting myself.

What has been your biggest success as a maker?

I have only been running as a business for three months, but in that time, I have sold out of most of my products and have received many custom orders for other small businesses. Unfortunately, I don’t ship outside of Canada, but I have had people from all over the world looking at my website and trying to order items, which is amazing.

Do you have any advice that you would pass on to someone hoping to start up their own business or product line?

Just do it…jump in with two feet! Create some sample products, make an Instagram, and post tons of reels. That’s where you get the most people viewing your products.

Please share any upcoming events as well as the best place(s) for people to purchase your product!

As of right now, I am only taking orders through my online shop & Instagram. Hopefully, in the fall, I will be able to join a few markets…only the future will tell.
