About Them

Can you please fully explain your business or product line?

Luxurious, all-natural, handcrafted bath, body, and home products. Our products are handmade in small batches to ensure we can focus on quality. We do not use any preservatives, so our products are fresh and natural. We also use the highest quality natural ingredients that we can source to provide the best self-care experience and contribute to our customers’ healthier lifestyles.

With the Winnipeg local maker community continuing to grow, what is the most important thing you’d like potential customers of your company to know?

We realize customers today are looking to support small businesses/makers and they are getting choosier about where they spend their hard-earned dollars. They look for companies that share their beliefs. Our goal in 2022 is to choose a different local charity every quarter to donate part of our sales to including Willow Place; a shelter for women & children. Giving back is what makes us all, as a community, successful.

What inspired you to start your business?

My kids actually inspired me to start the business! I have always been a crafter and love creating in different forms. I had made lip balms in the past and with the red level lockdowns in December 2020, I decided to bring them back for their Christmas stockings. I posted the extras on my local FB page and sold out before I even barely finished posting. People were so desperate to buy items for Christmas, especially with essential-only items being available at the stores, anything local & available was a hot commodity. I had about three hours to come up with a name and get labels on my products! It has been a bit of a whirlwind ever since then, but I have loved every minute of it.

What was the biggest struggle you’ve had to overcome?

The biggest struggle I have as a new small business is building my brand awareness and getting my product in front of people. Starting during a pandemic has not made that any easier. While I certainly have a passion for my products, it can be difficult to find the customers who identify with my brand.

What has been your biggest success as a maker?

My biggest success is hearing the feedback on my products & knowing that people are loving them and, in turn, using fewer toxic products in their day-to-day lives. Attending markets and introducing my products to people is another one of my greatest joys.

Do you have any advice that you would pass on to someone hoping to start up their own business or product line?

Go for it! Don’t hesitate and don’t let the nay-sayers get in the way! If you have a passion for something, that will show through and people will connect with your product and you.

Please share any upcoming events as well as the best place(s) for people to purchase your product!

You can shop our website, as well as DM or email us anytime to order. Sign up for our monthly newsletter for 10% off your first purchase! Market season is just starting up and we will be back out there in many locations across the province this spring & summer.
