About Them

Can you please fully explain your business or product line?

Jagged Little Pillows creates quirky, one-of-a-kind, hand-sewn throw pillows and other home décor that is made to make you smile!

Vibrant, modern, humorous, and maybe even a little ironic at times, Jagged Little Pillows makes quality products that you won’t find anywhere else.

Using hand-picked textiles, fun textures, and custom graphic design, Jagged Little Pillows creates uncommon goods for every home.

With the Winnipeg local maker community continuing to grow, what is the most important thing you’d like potential customers of your company to know?

Every single pillow I make is handmade with a whole lotta love!

Every fabric is hand-selected, every style is hand-designed, and every pillow is hand-sewn. That means you definitely won’t be finding it anywhere else. Every single piece I create is one-of-a-kind to the buyer, making their home just as unique!

What inspired you to start your business?

I have always found my passion in being creative and after going through a very major and unexpected loss in my life, I needed an outlet.

What started out as just a hobby to get my mind off of things led to something bigger and kind of took off on me, so I went with it!

What was the biggest struggle you’ve had to overcome?

The pandemic has definitely been a struggle for pretty much every business I know. A big part of my business was in-person shows and interacting with my customers. Initially, it halted everything and I wasn’t sure what to do, but like everyone else, I learned to pivot, focusing a lot more on online promotions, photography, and copious amounts of mask making.

In the end, what seemed like a bad thing actually really helped me grow the parts of my business that I maybe didn’t have as much time to work on before.

What has been your biggest success as a maker?

Jagged Little Pillows was featured in the Winnipeg Free Press and the fact that someone I didn’t previously know contacted me to set that up because they knew about my business and thought it was cool was pretty insane to me!

Every time I sell something or have someone come up to me to say that they love my work, it is honestly surreal.

It’s crazy to me that what started out as just a hobby has become something that I am so darn proud of. People actually know who I am and recognize my business.

I put a lot of effort and intent into everything that I create. The fact that I get to do this every day as my job and have people actually care about it is a success for me.

Do you have any advice that you would pass on to someone hoping to start up their own business or product line?

Life’s too short. Drink the wine, eat the cake, start the business! But, be prepared to work hard!

Please share any upcoming events as well as the best place(s) for people the purchase your product!
