Business Name: Prim & Pampas Website: N/A Established: 2020 Questions answered by: Jessica Wittick
Can you please fully explain your business or product line?
We make custom wreaths, arrangements, and bouquets, as well as other home decor items, all with pampas and dried everlasting florals
With the Winnipeg local maker community continuing to grow, what is the most important thing you’d like potential customers of your company to know?
Here at Prim & Pampas, we give each customer the option for complete customization of every piece, down to every fine detail.
We work with our customers one on one to get them exactly what they’re looking for and bring their vision to life!
What inspired you to start your business?
We decided to pick some wild pampas grass and make wreaths this past fall. We posted a few for sale on Facebook Marketplace and basically blew-up overnight.
Since then, we’ve grown leaps and bounds, learning about dried florals and different types of pampas grass. We continue to grow every day and are always trying to bring something new.
What was the biggest struggle you’ve had to overcome?
Learning to run a business from the ground up was a struggle at first. There was a ton of trial and error, and even now, six months down the line, it’s a constant learning curve!
What has been your biggest success as a maker?
I think the overall response of our community. Little did we know in the beginning that we would have such an overwhelming response. It’s an amazing feeling being able to make beautiful things that bring people enjoyment.
We’re so grateful every day at how busy we’ve been and can’t thank Winnipeggers enough for all their support.
Do you have any advice that you would pass on to someone hoping to start up their own business or product line?
Just go for it! Even if there are a ton of other makers doing the exact same thing already, don’t let that stop you! Everybody has their own spin to bring to the table. There’s room for everyone here and nobody can do you like you!
Please share any upcoming events as well as the best place(s) for people to purchase your product!
We will be at a few select dates for the Pineridge Hollow Farmers’ Market! We also plan to have a pop-up in our backyard if restrictions allow, but in the meantime, you can find us on the Peg City Thrift website and stay updated on our Instagram.
