    About Them

Can you please fully explain your business or product line?

I make handcrafted natural fibre dolls. Each doll is made by hand using cotton knit fabric and locally produced wool batting. Faces are hand-sculpted, eyes are embroidered by hand.

With the Winnipeg local maker community continuing to grow, what is the most important thing you’d like potential customers of your company to know?

Each doll is an individual, made with great care, a companion for your child. I custom make eye colour, hair colour, a favourite colour and clothing style.
My focus is on dolls getting to children not on profits so my prices will surprise you.

What inspired you to start your business?

I retired and wasn’t ready to just sit. As I have always loved dolls this seemed a good fit for me. I started with doll clothes for the American Girl style doll which I still make and taught myself how to make dolls.

What was the biggest struggle you’ve had to overcome?

The year of Covid 19 as a whole! I have depended on craft sales and suddenly they were no more.

What has been your biggest success as a maker?

I measure my success in children’s smile and their much-loved dolls that I have created.

Do you have any advice that you would pass on to someone hoping to start up their own business or product line?

You need to be passionate about what you do. Quality product, good service come first; profits are secondary

Please share any upcoming events (virtual for the time being, of course) as well as the best place(s) for people to purchase your product!

Keep an eye out for more info on the Winnipeg Doll Extravaganza in September. For now, my website is the best place to make purchases/requests.
