With the local maker community continuing to grow, what makes you stand out from the rest?
Safety is my #1 concern! All items are compliant with the CCPSA (Canada Consumer Product Safety Act) Standards as well as the United States CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) Standards. Each product is made and designed according to safety standards in North America.
Our products are also stylish and unique.
What made you realize that you had a product that could be shared with others?
I first started making items for my youngest daughter and from there started selling to friends and family and slowly word spread and the business grew. I love being creative and creating each piece so as the business has grown I have really loved every second!
What has been your biggest success as a maker? Biggest struggle you’ve overcome?
My biggest success was turning a fun hobby into a part-time job! Not just a job but a job that I love.
The biggest struggle for me was the hours of research in regards to safety. There was a lot to read through and to understand.
Any advice that you would tell someone hoping to start up their own business or product line?
To go for it! You never know what will happen until you try. It may be hard at first but don’t give up!
Please share any upcoming events (physical events, virtual sales, etc.) that you think Winnipeggers would be interested in!
