Can you please fully explain your business or product line?

We handcraft the most delicious toffee and treats in Canada. Combining cashews, crunchy toffee, and chocolate; Utoffeea is a perfect balance of sweet and savoury.

With the local maker community continuing to grow, what makes you stand out from the rest?

Utoffeea was named “Best Toffee in Canada” because it tastes so delicious, and is made in small batches with care. You won’t find another treat that compares with Utoffeea for taste and enjoyment!

These are nothing like commercial soap. They are SO much better for you, your skin, and the planet!

What made you realize that you had a product that could be shared with others?

Skor bar was always my favourite chocolate bar, and when I realized that I could make toffee in my home kitchen, let’s just say I was hooked. Toffee making is extremely difficult to master, so once I did master it, I felt like I had something special to share with the world.

What has been your biggest success as a maker? Biggest struggle you’ve overcome?

Having a place in people’s Christmas treat traditions is definitely an honour. My biggest success has been all the positive feedback I receive from customers.

Always learning how to expand, how to produce more product, how to bring on people to help in the business. Growing a business is a struggle.

Any advice that you would tell someone hoping to start up their own business or product line?

My business advice would be: do it at 80%. If you wait until your product or service is 100% perfect, you’ll never begin. Start selling, start getting feedback about what you offer, and then learn from that and grow. The market will tell you what it wants/needs.

Pamela Roz has spent the last 15 years as a radio broadcaster including in classic rock, adult contemporary, top 40, nostalgia, and country formats. While honing the craft of radio, Pamela has grown her own publicity business, Pamela Roz PR. Since 2011, she has helped Manitoba-based artists/bands, theatre companies, events, organizations, and charities gain media coverage as well as enhance their online presence and grow their public followings (both on and offline).
